The challenge
With decades of experience, A1 Telekom Austria operates highly secure data centres and is one of the largest IT outsourcing service providers in Austria. More and more companies, especially in the public administration and financial sectors, are outsourcing their particularly critical infrastructure to A1. The systems used in this process must undergo an annual audit and an audit report in accordance with ISAE 3402 must be submitted. Strictly regulated audit logs must be used to provide evidence from the system, and large amounts of data must be extracted, organised and presented in a way that is comprehensible to the auditors. In most cases, it is no longer possible to fulfil these strict requirements with manually created audits. Our automated ISAE 3402 reporting tool makes analyses much easier.
Our solution
Our solution utilises the flexible ServiceNow Platform and shows the compliance of all firewalls in real time. Valid reports are generated at the push of a button - without manual time expenditure for smooth audits!
The most important key data
Integration and collection of different logs
Firewall logs in the syslog standard are bundled and processed by the syslog processor - regardless of the manufacturer - and stored on the Graylog syslog server in a clearly structured manner.
Simple operation
The intuitive graphical user interface enables detailed analysis of all log data and draws samples for the auditor.
Log data processing
Necessary log data is forwarded to ServiceNow, stored and referenced with the customer's order tickets. It is possible to connect all systems with a web service interface.
Reporting and monitoring in ServiceNow
Every rule change in a firewall is assigned to a service request or incident. Processor groups receive non-referenced, ISAE-relevant logs for manual checking.
