The national ski association of Austria unites 9 provincial ski associations, 14 sports, thousands of athletes, coaches, officials and members under the umbrella of "Ski Austria". The association requires an extensive, highly developed IT infrastructure and a wide range of applications, as well as the associated data security, to ensure that daily work runs smoothly. This system landscape requires professional planning, implementation, further development, maintenance and support. The ÖSV decided to outsource this responsible task to an external partner. As part of the active partnership with A1 Telekom Austria AG, the choice fell on World Direct.
Our service
We are responsible for the entire support of the ÖSV IT-infrastructure. Our customer now has a central point of contact for all relevant IT issues. The ÖSV also avoids having to contact various hotlines and has direct access to qualified technicians who can work on specific solutions. Overall, this saves a lot of time, costs and energy.
By providing comprehensive support for the IT infrastructure landscape, we also offer the ÖSV the opportunity to further develop and optimise systems holistically, ensuring that all employees can work faster, more efficiently and in a more user-friendly manner.
Network
We planned and implemented the complete reinstallation of the network and integration of the WLAN at all four ÖSV locations in Tyrol. These include the headquarters in Innsbruck, the Ski Austria Academy in St. Christoph, the restaurant “1809” and the very complex and extensive Bergisel ski jump area, including all cash register systems as well as the coaching rooms. Since the installation was completed, we have been fully responsible for monitoring and supporting the ÖSV IT ecosystem.
Infrastructure
With the exception of end devices and network components, the IT infrastructure at the ÖSV sites has been reduced significantly, with the goal to eliminate it completely over time. The entire operation takes place in highly available and secure A1 data centres, with data traffic running via fast and redundant A1 data lines. This approach is far more cost-effective than the expensive installation of infrastructure on site and guarantees maximum reliability and data security. We provide the complete IT infrastructure support at the locations, as well as operation, monitoring and maintenance.
Applications
Daily business of the ÖSV requires complex interaction between a wide range of applications, from the Office 365 environment, file server, document management, accounting, CRM and merchandise management system to the membership management tool for hundreds of thousands of members. Even if different manufacturers are behind the individual applications, the ÖSV only has one point of contact. In tight cooperation with the ÖSV and external partners we take care of fault clearance, updates, upgrades and, in the event of major challenges, direct contact with the manufacturers.
With our "IT as a Service" offering, we are the external IT department that takes care of the entire IT environment personally, quickly and highly professionally.
