Campus Tirol Motorsport
Formula Student is more than just a student competition; it is an innovation laboratory under the toughest conditions. The Campus Tirol Motorsport team, an association of over 80 students from the University of Innsbruck, MCI, UMIT TIROL and FH Kufstein Tirol, has established itself among the European leaders with its all-electric racing car developed entirely in-house. The 2024 season was the most successful in the team's history to date with three podium finishes, including a 2nd place in the supreme discipline, the 22-kilometre endurance race.
This success is based on excellent engineering - and a digital infrastructure that works reliably at all times. As a strategic technology partner, we create the basis for seamless, fast and secure processes from development to racing.
More than sponsorship
We act as a highly specialised infrastructure provider for CTM and deliver precisely the expertise that even our most demanding corporate customers rely on:
- Highly secure and highly available cloud infrastructure
All of the team's critical data and services are operated in the secure data centres of our parent company A1. Development data and real-time telemetry are therefore protected at the highest level. - Stable machine-to-machine data connections
Special M2M SIM cards from A1 enable ultra-fast transmission of sensor data. Important telemetry data such as battery temperature or driving behaviour can thus be analysed in real time and optimally adapted. - Seamless collaboration in the team
The 80-strong team works in a Microsoft 365 tenant managed by World Direct. This ensures smooth communication and the GDPR-compliant exchange of CAD files, simulations and strategy documents at all times.

From racing to the data centre:
The technologies that ensure millisecond decisions in motorsport also form the digital backbone for business-critical systems in our industries with the highest demands: For example, in the energy sector, where our A1 Virtual Power Plant helps to stabilise the power grid, or in the financial sector, where highly available transaction systems or our Open Banking Hub ensure smooth payment transactions around the clock.

A partnership for innovation
With the "NIVIS" racing car presented for the 2025 season, Campus Tirol Motorsport is taking the next step in its development. This is made possible by a strong team - both on the race track and in the digital space.
A common path that shows: When technology and trust meet, space is created for real innovation. And perhaps this path will even lead towards autonomous driving in the coming year - initial ideas and AI approaches are already being discussed.
