We have grown considerably and, over time, different devices have been used at our employees' workstations. As part of the standardisation of our IT infrastructure for more efficient maintenance, we installed new screens at the Sistrans site at the beginning of 2024. As part of our daily sustainability strategy, it was important to us that the 24" monitors that had become available and were still fully functional were not disposed of but put to good use. The basic digital education of children is very important to us and we support this through a variety of programmes such as the annual coding4kids initiative and various collaborations with educational institutions in Tyrol.
Sustainably promoting digitalisation
In line with this corporate philosophy, we have decided to donate the available monitors to schools and NGOs in order to alleviate budgetary bottlenecks and give children access to modern work equipment.
Internally, we asked our employees to come up with suggestions for identifying charitable organisations and schools in the region that have a particularly urgent need and would benefit from this campaign.
Support for three local organisations
We have modernised 3 classes at Pettneu primary school with a total of 24 screens. To the great delight of the children and the management, we were able to replace very old screens, still in 4:3 format.
We also replaced very old equipment at the Sistrans primary school and put the new monitors into operation in a joint campaign with the children.
Another 14 monitors went to the "Rainbows" institution, a volunteer-run NGO that offers children and young people a place to go in difficult times of separation, divorce or the death of close relatives.
In order to be prepared for the challenges of the future, it is crucial for our children to develop comprehensive digital skills as early as possible. This also requires a suitable technical environment and we are pleased to be able to make a contribution with this campaign to support these framework conditions in some institutions.
It's very important to me that children don't just work with touch devices. Workstations with Windows PCs, screens, keyboards and mice are still the standard in the world of work - our children also need to learn how to use such devices."
