The ongoing and ever-increasing pace of digitalisation offers enormous opportunities and is also an immense challenge. Children in particular should therefore develop digital skills at an early age in order to be prepared for the future. The Coding4Kids initiative supports them in this and shows them how they can not only utilise the new technologies, but also understand them and use them for their own projects.
The one-week holiday course teaches the basics of coding under the guidance of experienced experts. With lots of fun and creativity, this knowledge is used to plan, programme, test and ultimately publish complete video games using the Scratch programming environment.
We supported the initiative again this year and invited children to Sistrans from 1 - 5 August. Once again, children were able to playfully discover the world of digitalisation. The whole thing didn't take place in the classroom, but in our innovation space with beanbags, indoor lawn and beach loungers - Marty McFly and R2-D2 laugh motivatingly from the walls.
It is always impressive to see how young people develop and what can be achieved in just a few days. With smart ideas and a lot of team spirit, the kids were able to programme their first games.

Impressions from last year
Last year, we were already able to take part as a venue and supported 14 children on the holiday course. You can find all the information in the news article and watch the video to see just how much fun and motivation they had on our campus:
